Rauma mill has operated without work-related accidents over one year

Metsä Fibre targets accident-free operations. Rauma mill has operated continuously over 12 months with no accidents to mill staff.

A safe working environment is the cornerstone of high standard, efficient operations. Safety management is an important part of good managing operations and everyone is responsible for ensuring safety.

Metsä Fibre is aiming for a zero rate of work-related accidents by the year 2012. Principles of safety management have been defined for achieving this target and these principles have been implemented in every Metsä Fibre unit since the beginning of 2009. We work proactively to avoid all hazardous situations and accidents. Clear objectives and indicators have been formulated for implementing proactive safety work.

This proactive approach has borne fruit, as on 7 October the staff of the Metsä Fibre mill in Rauma achieved a full year of continuous operations with no work-related accidents.

Metsä Fibre is seeking to establish a strong safety culture to which all staff are committed throughout the organisation. Our aim is to ensure that no accidents occur to our own staff or to those of our partners.
