Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft Pulp (NBSK) is commonly used in the production of most paper, paperboard and tissue products. Softwood pulp brings strength to the end product, as well as runnability and excellent dewatering properties to the production process.
Our softwood pulp is used to make our Metsä Pine and Metsä Strong products. Metsä produces high-quality softwood pulp at its pulp mills in Äänekoski, Kemi, Joutseno, Rauma and Husum.
Our softwood pulp consists of high-quality Nordic pine (pinus silvestris) and spruce (picea abies) sustainably sourced and felled by Metsä Forest. Softwood pulp produced from Nordic coniferous trees has good tensile and tear strengths. All of the wood raw materials Metsä Fibre uses are 100% traceable to their source.
Our Botnia pulp is now called Metsä Fibre pulp. In the past, our pulp was branded with the Botnia name. The same products are now branded Metsä. Only the branding has changed. Our products and product range are exactly the same, with the same guaranteed Metsä Fibre quality.
