Keiji Takanashi from Itochu Corporation, a Japanese part-owner of Metsä Fibre, was interviewed on the significance of pulp and wood-based textile fibres to Itochu and the whole textile industry. The interview took place at the media event organized at the construction site of Metsä Fibre’s next-generation bioproduct mill in February 2016. The new mill, scheduled to open during 2017, utilizes efficiently the side streams of pulp production for new products and services, such as biogas, biocomposite materials and textile fibres.
